We are delighted to welcome Helen Krizos as a jury member for the final round of Fingertips International Piano Competition!
Helen Krizos has had a distinguished career both as performer and teacher.
As a performer she enjoyed working in a piano duo partnership for many years which led to recognition within the UK as one of the most sought-after ensembles. She performed regularly on BBC radio 3 and made highly successful recordings for Hyperion.
For many years Helen was Deputy Head of Keyboard Studies at the Royal Northern College of Music where she now continues as principal lecturer in piano. She has a passionate interest in developing pedagogy to train the next generation of piano teachers and established this programme at the RNCM.
Her students have won prizes, nationally and internationally. Successes include winner of the Piano Category BBC Young Musician of the year; first prize in piano, Royal Overseas League competition; first prize Tunbridge Wells International Piano Competition; Netherlands International competition; Ettlingen and Porto.
Students have performed in major concert halls around the world including Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall and the Barbican. Alumni students make important musical contributions with varied career paths, establishing themselves as chamber musicians, solo pianists, accompanists, teachers of music faculties internationally, and in prestigious conducting positions.
As an internationally recognised musician Helen has given master classes in UK, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Spain, Norway, Austria, China and Singapore.
